While I have done a lot in my life I am still young, so my biography is still in the works.  I can share with you a little dash. A dear friend said to me that at my funeral it will say 1989 – YOD, and that dash is your life, your story, your accomplishments, your failures. My dash is not long yet but always ready for more adventure!!
As long as I can remember I have always had a passion for cooking and food if I wasn’t helping my mom bake cookies I was making mud pies in the backyard (“Oh this grass tastes good!”). My father always taught me to at least try it once!! I have stuck to that motto all my life.
My mom taught me a lot of good old home cooking – rich flavors and hearty meals on a fall day. A piping hot soup with some bread after a winter adventure.  My dad, on the other hand, is a mad scientist in the kitchen, throwing everything in including the kitchen sink sometimes.  From my parents cooking I have come up with my own techniques and passion.  I love to experiment and try crazy concoctions. If they turn out, Score! If its rubbish I try again.
I love all kinds of music, which keeps our kitchen a rockin’.  I love to laugh and make others laugh till their stomach hurts! I love visits to the country; visiting my local farmers and of course the farmers markets.  I love the smells that each season brings to that crisp fall leaf that smells earthy to that plump tomato from the garden. Keep it fresh and local much as possible my friends and enjoy life, and of course keep smiling!!
It has only been this year that I have truly been able to chase my cooking dreams.  I thank Little Mushroom so much for taking me under her wing. My dash continues as I do what I love. Don’t let your passions go!
